I’m looking to get a tattoo on my ribs, which I understand is one of the most painful places. Can I take a pain medication like asprin beforehand to deal with it? What medicines work best? How far beforehand should I take it?

I need some ideas about a tattoo or tattoos! I want to get a tattoo/tattoos thats classy not cheap looking symbolizing love for my brothers any ideas?
I want to get my first tattoo this summer but i’ve heard that that’s not a good idea because i’m going to be in the sun a lot and water and things like that.
Just want to know the opinion of others
Thanks =)
Fall and winter is always the best time.
This way it is not exposed to the elements and gives it time to heal.
You do need to be careful with your clothing, this is why I suggest early fall.
You can not swim for 3-4 weeks after getting a tattoo and should not expose it to the sun for about that long and then always wear sunscreen on it after it is healed.
People get all kinds of tattoos, I myself want to get a tattoo and have been brainstorming a lot so I was curious what some of you had to say about how you got your tattoo/tattoos.
I got my first tattoo when I was fifteen, it is a rose with two names. I got it in memory of a little girl whom I adored, and also my brother, who both passed away three days apart. I regret getting this tattoo because I was young and naive and headstrong. i didn’t research the artist and didnt even know that it was illegal. The result is a tattoo that is quite poorly done. I am still attached to it for the reasons aforementioned though. Then I began a tattooing apprenticeship and my whole world opened to art and the myriad of possibilities available in tattooing. I got a tattoo that represented myself and my beliefs. Then I got a handprint of the little girl who passed. I placed two doves on my chest with the words “Flight and Fall, In Deo Speramus (In God we trust).” I also added a half sleeve, which you can see on my profile picture is of a blue buddha. He is my artistic interpretation of the Boddhisattva Avalokiteshvara, who is the buddha-to-be of mercy and compassion. Through his crown are the initials of my eight siblings (in elegant ancient mayan). This was my way of carrying the people I love with me for all eternity. I recently added chess pieces to my foot in memory of my dad, which you can view below if you wish. All of my tattoo’s I chose because they are things I am proud to carry with me for my entire life. They run deeper than a phase, or a passion. They are part of my inner self, that through a very talented artist (my boss) I was able to apply to my outer self as well. A lot of people regret their tattoo’s and as someone who works in the industry it saddens me greatly. If people take more time to decide on their artwork and THOROUGHLY research their tattoo artist’ ability prior to wearing the artwork for life, their will be a lot less remorse over poorly made decisions. Also I have found that people focus far too much on cost instead of quality. Best of luck with your choice, please keep us posted.
I just moved to West Babylon, NY today from Connecticut.
Anyone have any suggestions on where to get my first tattoo on Long Island?
It’s going to be a fairly large octopus and I want very vibrant color.
What are the best tattoo shops on the island as far as cleanliness, customer service, and detail of tattoos?
Tattoos are permanent and I want to be sure I am making the best choice.
Also: How far in advance to I have to book an appointment? And how expensive is it?
You some of the best tattoo artists in the world in Manhattan, and you wont take the train…SAD!
In the near future, I’m definately thinking about getting a couple tattoos. Tattoos that actually have meaning to me.. And, of course, now days, theres lots of people who are against them. Even though there are people out there who are against tattoos, dont you think if you have a tattoo thats actually meaningful, it will take away from the negative and bring back something positive. Will the tattoos be more attractive or unattractive?
I can totally undertstand where you are coming from.
I’m 39yrs old, and just 2 weeks ago, I got my first tattoo done, the very next day I got my second tattoo done. Both have meanings behind them. the 3rd one will come during my Christmas break.
For years, I have been talking about getting a tattoo, but I did not want to rush and just get anything put on my skin. I have looked and looked at different websites and books to find what i really want or find some ideas to improve my designs, but never was satisfied with what I have found. So I wasn’t to bothered to about getting it done straight away.
2 weeks ago, i walked into a tattoo studio, showed them what I had…they improved it and got both done.
I have my daughter’s name on my forearm with a fantastic (great) banner with lots of detail and grey wash and I have a Maltese Cross on my right shoulder. Maltese Cross, because I was born in Malta.
*Disclaimer* If you’re unimaginative or have to be the one commenting with ‘I would never get a tattoo/tattoos are dumb’ blah blah-Please bug off!
Imagine you’re getting a tattoo of a character from Greek Mythology–What would you get and why? What would it look like?
Any thing from any story or any character…
Probably one of the goddesses like Artemis of Athena, if not then a sphinx because I love how they trap people with words and riddles
I want to get this same quote and the font as matching tattoos with my brother. How much would this cost on our wrist?

it shouldnt cost too much. its an easy enough tattoo in a common area so i wouldnt pay over 80 for it.
I don’t want my tattoo to strech out and look wonky. I plan to get a chest enlargement by natural ways, and I’m worried as the puppies grow, my tattoo will strech downward?
… This should seem fairly obvious.. but.. Your tattoo is put on your skin.. if your skin moves.. OH HEY MAGIC.. so does the tattoo….. When you get old and wrinkly.. OH HEY GUESS WHAT… so does the tat.. Yes… your ink would move if your skin moves..
